Dr Carayannopoulos is dual board certified in PM&R and Pain, Professor of Neurosurgery & Neurology at Brown University, and Chief of PM&R at Lifespan. He completed residency at Harvard and fellowship at Dartmouth. He was the 2023 ASRA Annual Meeting Chair and chairs the ASRA Neuromodulation SIG. He is President of the Rhode Island Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, President of the American Association of Osteopathic Examiners, Director on the Board of the Federation of State Medical Boards, and serves on the RI Boards of Medicine and OT. He is a 13-year decorated Navy Veteran.
